Social Networks are key to building relationships, so today we’ll talk about how to use it for networing
Many of us are subscribed to multiple Social Networks but I rarely see cases of useful networking used on key sites. Social Media is a great tool to gain new supporters, customers or new contacts within your industry if used correctly. Today i’ll run through my top 4 tips on how to network on Social Media.
First things first, you need to optimize your Bio. Countless times I have seen this sin committed on Social media and it seriously reduces your chances of potentially building key relationships with someone.
If a person cannot see who you are and what you do from looking at your bio, then there is a high chance your profile will get overlooked.
Include your social media links and website if you have one also.
2. Don’t Be Afraid To Follow Others
Many people are too focused on having a great follower/following ratio that they might miss out on building relationships.
Find people that are interested in your niche. You can do this through hashtags, Facebook groups or a Twitter search and follow/add them as a friend. This gives you the foundation for a great relationships.
Also, have a look to see who others in your niche are being followed by. There may be some people you can connected with that have a high chance of being pre-qualified.
3.Support Others Careers Or Hobbies
Once you’ve found a list of people you would like to follow and you’ve received your follow back, start to take an interest in the things they tweet.
Create some interactions by responding to some tweets about their interesting or even about random stuff they post.
Give them follows on other social networks after a few interactions and follow the links in their bio’s, support works both ways and more times than not they will reciprocate that support.
4.Keep In Touch
Once you’ve gained a supporter don’t just stop there, keep in touch, update them with your new stuff, give them feedback on their new stuff and repost the things you like. This will lead to genuine relationships all through social media and potentially could end up benefitting you hugely.
So to recap, we want to make sure our biography on all social media websites are consistent and optimised. We also want to make sure we start searching for people within our niche and following them. Once with followed them we want to support their interests and stay in touch. Even these tips are fairly obvious, you’d be surprised at just how many people don’t do it due to ego’s. If you keep this up long enough you’ll start to see just how beneficial it is.
